Privacy policy

The short version

MyGoldWorth records the metal you own so it can tell you what it is worth and what you made on it. That inventory is yours. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used for anything except running the app for you.

You can delete all of it, and your account, from inside the app.

What is stored

Your account: the email address and display name from whichever sign-in you use — Google, Apple, or an email and password. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we only ever see the relay address Apple gives us.

Your inventory: the purchases, pieces, weights, purities, costs, marketplace listings, sale prices, fees, storage bins, and any notes you enter.

Your photos: pictures you take of pieces, lots, and storage bins, and any enhanced copies you choose to keep.

Your subscription: if you subscribe, a record of what you are entitled to and the purchase events the store sends us — what was bought, when it renews, whether it is cancelled. Card details are never sent to us and never stored here; the store handles payment.

Notification settings: which alerts you want, and — if you turn them on — a delivery address for this device and its time offset, so a daily message arrives in your morning rather than ours.

AI usage: a count of how many AI requests you have made this month, and what they were spent on, so the monthly allowance can be enforced and shown to you.

Usage and stability data: which screens are opened, and crash reports containing the device model, operating system version, and the technical details of the failure.

On the device only: your currency and theme preferences, and any calculations you save. These never leave the phone.

Why it is stored

Your inventory and photos exist so the app can do its job, and so they survive losing your phone. Without an account they would live only on that device and die with it.

Usage and stability data exists so the app can be fixed and improved. It is not linked to your inventory.

Who else sees it

Google, as the operator of Firebase, which provides the sign-in, the database, the file storage, the analytics, and the crash reporting this app is built on. Data is held on Google servers under their security and privacy terms.

Apple, if you use Sign in with Apple, for the sign-in itself.

Anthropic, and only for the three things you ask it to do. Importing a spreadsheet sends its column headings and first twenty rows, once per import, to work out what the columns mean — the rest of the file is never sent. Writing a listing title or description sends the metal, purity, weight and name of that one piece, together with one of its photographs, shrunk for the purpose. Nothing is sent unless you press the button that sends it, your inventory as a whole is never sent, and Anthropic do not train on it.

RevenueCat, who handle subscriptions on both stores and tell us what you are entitled to. They see the purchase, not your inventory.

Nobody else. Your inventory is not sold, rented, or shared, and it is not used to target advertising. There is no advertising in the app.

Importing a spreadsheet

The file you choose is read on your own device — in the browser on the website, on the phone in the app — and is never uploaded. Only the sample described above leaves it, and only to identify the columns. On the phone that sample travels through our server on its way, because the key that pays for the reading cannot live on a handset.

The answer is remembered against the shape of your file, so importing the same export next month costs nothing and asks nothing. What is kept is which column meant what, not the contents of the file.

What that sample is used for is a single suggestion about which column is a weight, which is a purity, and so on. Every row is then converted by fixed rules inside the app, and you see exactly what will be created before anything is saved.

How long it is kept

Your inventory and photos are kept until you delete them, or until you delete your account, at which point they are removed.

There is one exception. The free plan holds a limited number of pieces. If you subscribe, record more than the free plan holds, and then stop subscribing, anything above that limit may be removed after 15 days. You are told before the period starts and reminded while it runs, and renewing at any point during it keeps everything. Nothing is removed without that warning.

Crash reports and usage data are kept on the retention schedule Firebase applies to them, which is a matter of months rather than indefinitely.

Deleting your account

Settings, then Delete account. This removes your inventory, your photos, and the account itself. It cannot be undone, and there is no copy kept afterwards.

If you cannot reach the app — a lost phone, a device that will not start — email support@sahapps.com from the address you signed up with and the same deletion will be carried out for you.

Children

MyGoldWorth is a tool for people buying and reselling precious metal. It is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who sees it, the app will say so rather than quietly swapping the wording. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
